Since the start on April 13, 2008, Beijing Intech eye hospital’s Cataract project named as Brighten the Neighborhood·Caring Around, offering free Cataract surgery to restore vision for group of the low-income, the widowed and those made special social contribution has been under constant social concern. With the coordination of different departments of the hospital, the registration, screening and surgery have been running fruitfully.
The earlier the problem to be detected, the easier it is to be cured. It is exactly the case of many eye problems and diseases for either adults or kids.
After elaborate project planning and organizing, preschool and primary school students of Deutsche Botschaftsschule Peking came to have on-site eye checkup offered freely by Beijing Intech Eye Hospital in their art room on June 20.
Beijing Intech Eye Hospital has been active in it’s social role and has been taking the responsibility on massive education of eye hygiene. On National Eye Health Day, Intech brings doctors, nurses and optical instruments again to neighborhoods to give free ophthalmic screening for people, which is not a special deed only for the Eye Health Day. Intech doctors and nurses check the eye through professional instrument, help people know their eyes conditions. For people being pre-diagnosed of eye problems, follow-up and daily care suggestions are given to save their sight.
Since Brighten the Neighborhood·Caring Around,a large scale charity cataract project being jointly launched by Beijing Intech Eye Hospital and Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau,the consulting hotlines of Beijing Intech Eye Hospital have been buzzing busy. More than 100 patients have signed up for candidateship of receiving cataract surgery free of charge,which donated by Intech as the core part of this charitable activity. Among them,42 have been verified as candidates and received free pre-surgery screening and 20 of them already had successful cataract procedure. According to the after surgery survey,all patients are satisfied with the surgery outcomes.
