Intech Cataract Project under Smooth Run
Since the start on April 13, 2008, Beijing Intech eye hospital’s Cataract project named as Brighten the Neighborhood·Caring Around, offering free Cataract surgery to restore vision for group of the low-income, the widowed and those made special social contribution has been under constant social concern. With the coordination of different departments of the hospital, the registration, screening and surgery have been running fruitfully.
Over 1,000 consultation calls have been registered, among them, 400 callers have been reported meeting the requirement. Until July 29th, over 150 persons have received pre-surgery examinations, covering candidates from districts and counties of Beijing like Dongcheng, xicheng, Chaoyang, Xuanwu, Fengtai, Shijingshan, Haidian, Tongzhou, Changping and Mentougou etc. Until July 24th, up to 60 patients received successful Cataract surgery for free and the surgery dates for other 18 candidates were scheduled.
